1. Introduction

Welcome to our blog. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect any information when you use our website. We are committed to ensuring the privacy and protection of your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws.

2. Contact Information

For any questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us at:

  • Email: pythonandfinancehub@gmail.com

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Comments

When you submit a comment on our blog:

  • All comments require manual approval before publication
  • Your comment content is stored in our database
  • Comments are publicly visible once approved
  • You can request removal of your comments at any time by contacting us

3.2 Retention

Comments: kept while published; removal on request or when no longer needed.
Contact emails: up to 24 months after last correspondence (or earlier on request), unless required for legal claims.
Analytics: raw logs 7–30 days; aggregated reports ≤12 months.
Server logs: 7–30 days.

3.3 Cookies

We do not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies. Matomo runs in cookieless mode.
Strictly necessary cookies may be set by WordPress when you log in to the admin area (authentication, security). Visitor opt-out for analytics sets one preference cookie only.

3.3 Analytics

Analytics: We use self-hosted Matomo (EU/CH server) in cookieless, privacy-friendly mode. IP addresses are anonymized before storage (≥2 bytes), referrers are truncated to domain only, Do-Not-Track/Global Privacy Control is respected, and visits/profile logs are disabled.
Retention: raw logs 7–30 days; aggregated reports ≤12 months.

You can opt out of Matomo measurement at any time on this page. This sets a strictly-necessary preference cookie that stores your choice. In addition, we respect your browser’s Do-Not-Track/Global Privacy Control signal.

Analytics preference: If the box is checked, analytics is on. If you uncheck, you opt-out and we stop measuring your visits.

You may choose to prevent this website from aggregating and analyzing the actions you take here. Doing so will protect your privacy, but will also prevent the owner from learning from your actions and creating a better experience for you and other users.

4. How We Use Your Information

We only use the collected information to:

  • Moderate and display comments
  • Maintain technical functionality
  • Comply with legal obligations

5. Data Storage and Security

  • Comments are stored in our secure database
  • We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data
  • We do not sell, trade, or transfer your information to third parties
  • We only retain data for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy

We avoid third-party embeds that set cookies. If we embed external media (e.g., YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, maps, social posts), it will be lazy-loaded behind a click so you can choose whether to load third-party content. Loading such content may send your IP address and user agent to that provider.

Anti-spam (Akismet). We use Akismet (Automattic) to prevent spam in comments. When you submit a comment, the comment text, name, email, site URL, IP address, user-agent, referrer and our site URL are sent to Akismet solely for spam detection. Legal basis: legitimate interests (security/abuse prevention). International transfers may occur (e.g., to the US) with safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We keep approved comments while published; spam/pendings are removed during routine moderation. See also Akismet’s GDPR information.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our website is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.

9. Data Protection Authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we have not complied with applicable data protection laws.

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection.
EU/EEA: you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Switzerland: you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling producing legal or similarly significant effects.

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to processing of your data
  • Request data portability
  • Withdraw consent at any time

To exercise these rights, please contact us at pythonandfinancehub@gmail.com.
